Joshua Isaiah Zuniga

Joshua Isaiah Zuniga passed away at the age of 26 years old on Thursday, March 30, 2023.  Josh was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.  He loved to drive 18-wheeler trucks and spending time with his family.

Josh was born on May 19, 1996, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Nancy Reyes and Pedro Zuniga.  Growing up he attended Midway ISD and enjoyed playing soccer and basketball and spending time with his family.  Josh was known for his enormous heart, infectious laugh, easy smile, and big hugs.  He loved his dogs Precious and Dawn, anything “Texas”, baseball caps, and was proud of his occupation of truck driver.

Josh was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Rogelio Reyes.  He is survived by his mother, Nancy Reyes and fiancé Rick Magnam, father, Pedro Zuniga and stepmother Patricia Zuniga, his brothers Jonathon Zuniga, Julian Vasquez, Enrique Zuniga, and sisters Janette and Paola Zuniga.  Other survivors include his maternal grandmother, Maria Elia Reyes, his paternal grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides of the Reyes and Zuniga families.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon Zuniga, Julian Vasquez, Jose “Zae” Cabral, Chris Cabral, Alex Mancilla, Edgar Mancilla, and Enrique Zuniga.

Family and friends will gather for a continuous vigil at St. Mary’s Hall at St. Michael’s Catholic Church (located at 1403 E 1st, Mt. Pleasant, TX) beginning on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 6:00 PM, with the Holy Rosary to be recited on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 8:00 PM and the vigil will continue until the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 4:00 PM. 

Thereafter, a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 5:00 PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home located at 8220 Woodway Dr, Waco, TX.
