Jerome Bennett Leonard

Jerome Bennett Leonard, of Winnsboro, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the age of 73. He was born in Kennesaw, GA on May 14, 1949, to Harold Dexter Leornard, Sr., and Kathleen Bennett Leonard.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his brother, Harold Leonard, Jr., and wife Teresa of Winnsboro, TX; niece, Brandie Swann of Winnsboro, TX; nieces, Holley Godfrey, Sarah Hogan and nephew, Brad Leonard and wife Kelly of Luthersville, GA; brother, Otis Leonard and wife Tracy of Kennesaw, GA; sister, Jean Tolbert, and husband John, Kathy Leonard of Kennesaw, GA, and Ginger Leonard of Kennesaw, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerome was an honorable man. He served our country in the United States Navy for 16 years as a Chief Petty Officer.  He was a truck driver for 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, spending the last 15 years with his brother, Harold, and wife, Teresa. Watching old westerns and Murder She Wrote were some of his favorite shows. He also enjoyed fishing.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at the Light House Church (636 Broadway Street, Winnsboro, TX 75494) on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Brother George Dickens to officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to help with the funeral expenses.
