Irene Laborico de Garcia

Irene Laborio de Garcia, of Winnsboro and Mt. Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the age of 71. She passed away at her home as she was surrounded by Family and Friends. She was born on October 20, 1951, in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico. Her mother was Petra Hernandez Laborico and her father Miguel Laborico Galvan.

She is preceded in death by, Enrique Garcia Rivera, her first husband, by Patricia Garcia Laborico her first daughter who died of Pneumonia at the age of 6 months, Her mother Petra Hernandez Laborico and her father Miguel Laborico Galvan, along with her younger brothers Francisco Laborico Hernandez and  

Isidoro Laborico Hernandez 

Survivors include, Ricardo Elizalde Perez - her 2nd husband of 42 years, Maria Luisa Yepez, her daughter, Cecilia Garcia Cruz, her daughter, Eduardo Garcia Laborico, her son, her grandkids of Gloria Yepez, Adriana Yepez, Alejandra Yepez, Enrique Yepez and great grandkids of Angel Ramirez, Diego Ramirez, Erick Ricardo Gonzalez and baby Wyatt Barnes. Her 3 brothers Mario Laborico Hernandez, Adolfo Laborico Hernandez, Guillermo Laborico Hernandez and 2 sisters Maria de la Luz Laborico Resendiz and Bertha Laborico Hernandez, along with dozens of Nieces and Nephews in Mexico.

Irene Laborio de García, de Winnsboro y Mt. Vernon, Texas, falleció el jueves 14 de septiembre de 2023 a la edad de 71 años. Falleció en su casa rodeada de familiares y amigos. Nació el 20 de octubre de 1951 en Gómez Palacio, Durango, México. Su madre fue Petra Hernández Laborico y su padre Miguel Laborico Galván.

Le precedieron en la muerte, Enrique García Rivera, su primer esposo, Patricia García Laborico su primera hija quien murió de neumonía a la edad de 6 meses, su madre Petra Hernández Laborico y su padre Miguel Laborico Galván, junto con sus hermanos menores Francisco Laborico Hernández e Isidoro Laborico Hernández

“Her Love and Passion” Our dearest MamaBear (Querida Ita) was a 45-year resident of Texas but just loved visiting her rancho of San Ignacio near Gomez Palacio in Mexico. She loved cooking and playing Loteria with anyone who would play with her. Her talent for cooking was recognized by so many family and friends. Her rice and mole were amazing, and everyone told her that. She loved making salsa in her molcajete that she had kept for over 40 years. She used the same comal (flat iron tortilla skillet) to warm up the tortillas for 45 years. Her love affair of the kitchen was legendary along with her collection of pots and pans and dishes, her Mexican kitchen was her happy place. Her tamales were quite possibly the best on the planet. She also really loved to order the Chicken Fried steak at the local restaurant Two Senioritas. If she had one other favorite past time it was playing Mexican loteria with her family. She would love playing so much that she would often times wanna play late into the night with anyone who would keep playing with her. Her kids have many photos and videos of her playing even when she was sick with sniffles and still playing Loteria until 2 am with her sisters, “Las 3 Mosketeras = The 3 Muskateers” when she was in Mexico, she just loved the game. She loved her “Viejo” or her old man Ricardo and would lay hugs and kisses on any friend nearby. In her later years she came to know many doctors and nurses and equally showered them with love and smiles. She told practically every male doctor she ever met that they were “very handsome” :) and every lady nurse, that they “were so sweet”. When she would visit her hometown in Mexico, she would shower her dozens of Nieces and Nephews with gifts and money, they loved her visits and she loved being there with them. She loved her little terrier Tekila who stayed faithfully by her side the final weeks of her life. She was the center of the Universe for so many people for many, many years.

“Su Amor y Pasión” Nuestra querida MamaBear (Querida Ita) residió en Texas durante 45 años, pero le encantaba visitar su rancho de San Ignacio, cerca de Gómez Palacio en México. Le encantaba cocinar y jugar a la lotería con cualquiera que jugara con ella. Su talento para la cocina fue reconocido por muchos familiares y amigos. Su arroz y mole estaban increíbles y todos se lo decían. Le encantaba hacer salsa en su molcajete que conservaba desde hacía más de 40 años. Ella usó el mismo comal (sartén plana para tortillas) para calentar las tortillas durante 45 años. Su amor por la cocina era legendario junto con su colección de ollas, sartenes y platos, su cocina mexicana era su lugar feliz. Sus tamales eran posiblemente los mejores del planeta. También le encantaba pedir el filete de pollo frito,”Chicken Fried steak” en el restaurante local Two Senioritas. Si tenía otro pasatiempo favorito era jugar a la Lotería Mexicana con su familia. Le encantaba tanto jugar que muchas veces quería jugar hasta altas horas de la noche con cualquiera que siguiera jugando con ella. Sus hijos tienen muchas fotos y videos de ella jugando incluso cuando estaba enferma con resfriado y seguía jugando a la Lotería hasta las 2 am con sus hermanas, “Las 3 Mosqueteras = Los 3 Mosqueteros” cuando estaba en México, simplemente le encantaba el juego. Amaba a su “Viejo” o a su viejo Ricardo y abrazaba y besaba a cualquier amigo cercano. En sus últimos años conoció a muchos médicos y enfermeras y los colmó de amor y sonrisas. Le dijo a prácticamente todos los médicos que conoció que eran “muy guapos” :) y a todas las enfermeras, que “eran tan dulces”. Cuando visitaba su ciudad natal en México, colmaba de regalos y dinero a sus docenas de sobrinos y sobrinas, a ellos les encantaban sus visitas y a ella le encantaba estar allí con ellos. Amaba a su pequeña perrita terrier Tekila, quien permaneció fiel a su lado las últimas semanas de su vida. Ella fue el centro del Universo para mucha gente durante muchos, muchos años.

The Visitation will be held at the Mount Vernon Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, September 22, 2023, and will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the Velorio will continue throughout the evening until 10:00 a.m., the next morning. The funeral procession will begin at the Mount Vernon Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday at 10:00 am. We will drive by escort to The Graveside Service, which will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Family Cemetery “El Olivo”, located near the family land at 8817 NE CR 2100, Talco, Tx, 75487, approx. 7 miles North of Mt. Vernon off of Hwy 37

El Velorio se llevará a cabo en la funeraria Mount Vernon Memorial el viernes 22 de septiembre de 2023 y comenzará a las 5:00 p.m. y el Velorio continuará durante toda la noche hasta las 10:00 horas de la mañana siguiente. La procesión fúnebre comenzará en la funeraria Mount Vernon Memorial el sábado a las 10:00 am. Nos conduciremos con escolta hasta el lugar de entierro, que se llevará a cabo el sábado 23 de septiembre de 2023 a las 11:00 a. m. en el Cementerio Familiar “El Olivo”, ubicado cerca del terreno familiar en 8817 NE CR 2100, Talco, Tx., 75487, aprox. 7 millas al norte de Mt. Vernon a la salida del Highway 37.
